We’re looking for General Nonprofit Interns, with opportunities to work with our ReStores (thrift shops), marketing and communications, administrative team, and more! Expand your skills and learn the ins-and-outs of nonprofit work, while assisting with administrative tasks and supporting Habitat’s mission. Interviews will be conducted in April 2026, and the internship is from Tuesday, June 2, 2026 to Friday, July 31, 2026.
These are unpaid, hybrid positions with travel throughout Palm Beach County required. You must be at least 18 years of age and have your own transportation.
Summer Internship Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have own transportation
- You must willing to commit to the full 8 weeks of the internship (June 2, 2026 - July 31, 2026).
- Applicants must pass a criminal background check and drug screening upon selection to the internship program.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in college or university
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Office365 and other computer programs is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Basic knowledge of Habitat's work and mission is a plus
- Passion for social impact and community service
ReStore Operations
Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit retail management by supporting daily ReStore operations, including sales, merchandising, donation processing, inventory flow, and customer service. Interns will work alongside leadership to learn how retail revenue directly funds affordable housing initiatives while developing professional skills in business operations, planning, and nonprofit management.
ReStore Marketing
Support mission-driven marketing by capturing ReStore photo and video content, creating engaging social media posts, and promoting sales, events, and community partnerships. Interns will help strengthen brand presence while learning how strategic marketing supports sales and revenue in a retail thrift operation.
Marketing and Communications:
Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing by creating engaging content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and digital platforms while supporting event promotion and community outreach efforts. Interns will also help track media coverage, monitor campaign performance, maintain press and media lists, and assist with research, reporting, and proofreading to ensure all communications align with Habitat’s mission and brand.
