No! We have experienced crew leaders and construction staff that will guide you throughout your whole experience!

Yes! You can volunteer in our ReStores or in our administrative office. Visit our Volunteer Page to learn more.

 Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Neighborhood Engagement volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. ReStore volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. All minors that volunteer must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian submitted to Habitat prior to their volunteer experience. 

We provide everything you will need! Just come ready to have a good time!

For safety reasons, we do not allow anyone to be on our construction sites, at our Neighborhood Engagement sites, or volunteering at the ReStores that is not old enough to volunteer, even with a parent or guardian present.

Volunteer shifts range from 3.5 hours to 8 hours. Log into your volunteer account to view the opportunities calendar and find a volunteer shift that interests you!

No. Our homes are sold to our partner families at an interest free mortgage.

We are funded primarily through individual and corporate donations.

No! We also repair homes in our community through our Neighborhood Engagement program.

Neighborhood Engagement provides quality exterior repairs. This includes roofs, siding, windows, doors, ramps & railings, landscaping, painting, etc. We do not perform repairs inside the home.

No. Future homebuyers can only begin working on sweat equity hours after they have been accepted into the Homeownership Program. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to click the button that takes you to see if you feel you qualify for our program or if you are ready to take the first step. ​​

It usually takes between 18 to 24 months after being accepted into the program for a home to be completed and ready for purchase. Sometimes it may be more, sometimes it may be less.

No. Habitat for Humanity provides “a hand up, not a hand out” to help hard working, low income families and individuals, who otherwise would be unable to afford a loan through traditional financing, purchase a Habitat home with an affordable mortgage. 

Yes! Interested applicants can work on:
       1. reducing/paying off debt
       2. making timely payments on their bills
       3. resolving any accounts they may have in collections
       4. maintaining stable income

We partner with a number of organizations that offer free budget and credit counseling for those interested in preparing themselves before applications are open.  Completing free budget and credit counseling is NOT a requirement to be able to apply to our program but it is highly recommended and can increase your chances of being a better qualified applicant. You can contact our partner organizations directly to get more information.
