Volunteer Beacon of Light : Jim O’Neil

“I am a long time Habitat supporter and totally embrace their mission. To be part of the team that provides affordable housing for deserving families is very gratifying for me.”

This month we’re excited to introduce you to volunteer Jim O’Neil. Jim has been volunteering for Habitat for Humanity for nearly 5 years. He was a Habitat volunteer in Cincinnatti before he retired, and found that once he retired he had some time on his hands. He likes to do ‘handy things,’ and decided to volunteer again with Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County.

On the job site, Jim likes to do interior framing and painting – and he especially likes to paint gables on houses!

It’s About the People
Jim likes coming to work every day and likes the people he works with at Habitat. He likes the variety of staff and volunteers he works with, and he likes the different people in groups he works with.

No Minimum Skill Level Required

Jim wants people who are thinking about getting involved to know that there is no minimum skill level required. He’s seen that the staff are good and patient in teaching people how to do things. So come on out!

Jim has loved every minute of working at Habitat and the people he gets to work with. He only wishes he had retired sooner so he could have started volunteering sooner!

Be Like Jim: Volunteer at Habitat SPBC!

When you volunteer with South Palm Beach County #HabitatforHumanity, you can become part of the change you want to see in your community. Get Involved! and learn about our volunteer opportunities.
