Employee Spotlight: Ruthie Walker Ruthie started as a ReStore customer – and then became a Habitat ReStore employee!

​Q&A with Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County staff member Ruthie Walker, Processor. Processors are responsible for ensuring that donations dropped off at the store are acceptable, cleaned, sorted, repaired or repurposed for resale and delivered to the sales floor. 

How long have you been at Habitat? 
4  years in October. 

What brought you to Habitat?
I always enjoyed shopping at the ReStore to help give back to the community and wanted to be a part of it.

What makes you stay?

The people I work with and help build homes for keep me at Habitat.

What does HOME mean to you?
“Home” means somewhere to be happy and content. 

What is your favorite or most memorable moment during your tenure at Habitat? 
Walking through the door and being grateful for a new day.

A fun fact about you: 
I love horseback riding. I served in the army for ten years and received an honorable discharge at the rank of E-4.
